S-LP stands for Speech-Language Pathologist. Speech-Language Pathologists are regulated professionals that work with people of all ages on oral motor or communicative functions. S-LPs have a Masters degree and are regulated by the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO). At PipSpeak, our S-LPs assess, treat, and provide education to families of children in the areas of social communication, speech, language, stuttering, and voice disorders.
The Speech and Language Assistant is an important support person who works alongside trained professionals. Their role is to provide fun, imaginative speech and language therapy based on the goals and methods established and supervised by the Speech-Language Pathologist.

It's never too early to start developing communication skills.
Even at three months old, infants can show advanced signs of engagement and attentiveness. Watch out for those little eyes scanning faces as an indicator! To gauge your little one's communication abilities, we employ various techniques, including observing their interactions with parents, engaging them in one-on-one playtime, and conversing with adults. If you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to reach out to us.
We work with children of all abilities and needs, including those diagnosed with behavioural, cognitive, and/or social difficulties. Our approach is all about providing individualised care in a safe and nurturing environment. We believe in empowering children and their families to help them reach their full potential.
When parents talk, they help their children grow. At PipSpeak, we see the power of conversation everyday. It's a crucial part of a child's development, and we're here to help parents create the right environment for it. Whether it's in therapy or just a chat, we know that parents play an important role in building their child's communication skills and confidence.
Our therapy space is an adorable one room space. We have a comfy couch in our therapy room, where parents are invited to stay and observe and/or participate in the session. In some cases, parents may prefer to wait in the car or step out during the session; this especially applies for families with other children or when parental presence is distracting!
